How do I register for the fair?

You can pre-register (here) prior to the fair, or register the day of the fair prior to open hours (4-8pm Fri, after 9am Sat, after 9am Sun). If you are selling more than one vehicle, please register each vehicle separately.

What information do I need to register my vehicle?

You will need your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and any additional features you want to highlight about your vehicle that will impact the value of your car, such as trim, transmission, color, upholstery, and any special features or optional equipment your vehicle may have. The VIN is typically a 17-character alphanumeric code which is unique to your vehicle (older model vehicles may have fewer characters). You can typically find your vehicle's VIN number in a few places: stamped on the dashboard near the windshield, on the driver's side of the vehicle, on a plate or sticker on the driver's side door jamb, stamped on the engine's firewall, on your insurance card and insurance policy, or on your vehicle title and registration.

What type of vehicles do you accept?

We only accept vehicles with a clean title or lien title (absolutely no salvage, rebuilt, junk, lemon, theft or bonded titles). Additionally, we only allow private sellers - no dealers, wholesale, broker or savage title vehicles. Vehicles that do not adhere, will be removed without refund.

What do I need to bring with me the day of the fair?

Just bring your driver's license and proof of registration (phone screenshot or print out is acceptable).

Can I drop off my car early or pick up my vehicle late?

We cannot allow vehicles to be dropped off before 4:00pm CST on Friday or picked up after 5:00 pm CST on Sunday. If an auto is left after the fair ends, it will be towed.

I have dropped off my vehicle. What's next?

Once you have properly registered and dropped off your vehicle, we kindly ask that you leave the site and enjoy your weekend! This will contribute to a more comfortable experience for interested buyers. Please follow signage on where to pick up a ride-share or meet your ride.

What if I need to pick up my vehicle during the open fair hours?

This is discouraged, however, if you need to pick up your vehicle, please let a staff member know. They will drive the vehicle to the exit for you to pick up. You cannot access your car during after-hours, after fair hours 8:00 pm Friday and after 4:00 pm Saturday. Security staff cannot and will not have access to keys or vehicles. If a test drive is requested by a potential buyer, please contact a staff member who can assist with driving the vehicle to the exit.

If I sell my vehicle at your fair, what forms do I need to provide the buyer?

We will provide all DMV forms at the fair for a simpler purchase! Refer to Texas Department of Motor Vehicles webpage (here) for more information about the selling/buying process and necessary forms.

If there is bad weather anticipated in the forecast, will you still show my vehicle?

In general, we operate rain or shine and we do our best to remain open (raincoats and umbrellas!). If, however, the weather becomes a danger to shoppers, sellers, and/or to the cars, our staff will contact you prior to the event (as early as possible) to discuss rescheduling. In this unexpected (and hopefully very rare event), be on the look out for text messaging and emails. Thank you in advance for understanding.

If I didn't sell my car the first weekend. What next?

You will need to register for the next fair. By entering your vehicle's VIN, we will recognize if you have previously entered to sell. It is very important to re-register for future fairs.

What happens if I do not pick up my auto after the fair on Sunday?

After 5:00 pm CST on Sunday, we are unfortunately unable to hold any vehicles. They will be towed (you can contact Hill Family Auto Fair for information about towing company). Our contract with the lot specifies our fair must end no later than 5:00 pm CST. Thank you for understanding!

Will you be open any other weekdays or other weekends?

We are only open during the dates and times listed on the home page on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. Please continue to monitor our home page and social media for new dates, times, and updates!

Will my vehicle be safe overnight?

Yes! We have security staff monitoring vehicles around the clock to ensure safety. You will not be able to access your vehicle or keys after fair hours.

Will buyers be able to test drive my vehicle or enter to inspect it?

Inspections are optional. Vehicles will remain locked unless a buyer is interested. If a buyer is interested, they will contact our staff who will remain with the buyer the entire time they inspect the vehicle. Due to liability reasons, we are not able to offer test drives. However, if the seller would like to opt in, we can turn the vehicle on while it remains in place. If the buyer is interested in test driving (we would assume they are very interested, you would be contacted to assist with a test drive off fair property). A staff member will drive the car off premises in a designated area, and you may then assist the buyer in a test drive. For safety reasons, we request information from drivers license from the buyer.
